The Right to Bear Arms

Today yet another saddening story about guns was released in the New York Times. A two-year-old boy lost his mother by accidentally shooting her with the gun he found in her purse. They were shopping at a local Walmart in Idaho when the boy reached over and got a hold of his mother’s gun from her purse. He then discharged it in what appears to have been an accident.
This is yet another case in the frequent ones of this type that occur every few weeks in America. These “accidental” deaths are far from accidental, because clearly there are many people with their own agendas participating in the death. The woman’s ownership of the gun was legal – therefore, there are the people who issued her the permit. Then there’s the people who sell the guns – for profit, of course. The question is, is the American government doing anything about these murders, or are they just casually dismissing them as “accidental deaths”?

[Edit: unfortunately, I cannot find my original news source for this information. However, I used articles from the New York Times, Wikipedia, The Telegraph, and The Guardian to write this post.]

  1. If these deaths are not accidental, as you said, then are you saying they’re done on purpose? That guns are designed to randomly shoot? That toddlers are all conspiring to kill their mothers? I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make.

Yes, guns are sold for profit, just like practically everything in America, like water, and food. People need to make money and some find it in guns. The woman had a permit for her gun, and it was sold legally to her as its sold to thousands of other people there and the fact that her toddler shot her was, though tragic, something she herself is to blame. Why didn’t she watch her purse more carefully, knowing there was a gun in it?

Here’s my question, because I don’t see the point of this post besides being some very passive aggression to gun ownership: What do YOU thi
